WHAT CAUSES SPINAL STENOSIS?
Spinal stenosis is the narrowing of the spaces in the spine, which places pressure on the spinal cord and nerve roots. Spinal stenosis is most commonly caused by aging, arthritis, injury, hereditary conditions and instability of the spine. Symptoms include lower back pain, leg pain, frequent falls, clumbsiness, difficulty walking, and numbness or tingling in the legs. HOW IS SPINAL STENOSIS TREATED? Treatment may include medications (such as NSAIDs), postural changes, epidural steroid injections, and nerve blocks. |
