SACROILIAC (SI) JOINT PAIN
WHAT CAUSES SACROILIAC JOINT PAIN?
The sacroiliac joints connect the spine to the pelvis. These joints are fairly immobile, but arthritis, injury and wearing down of the sacroiliac joints can cause pain. Leg injuries or abnormalities (one leg longer than the other) can also cause sacroiliac joint pain.
HOW IS SACROILIAC JOINT PAIN TREATED?
Sacroiliac joint pain may be treated with medications (such as anti-inflammatories), SI joint injections, physical therapy, assistive devices, and exercise. If the sacroiliac pain is caused by a leg injury or abnormality, treatment for the underlying cause may also be established.
