CARPAL TUNNEL PAIN
WHAT CAUSES CARPAL TUNNEL PAIN?
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful condition caused by compression of the median nerve in the wrist. This nerve provides feeling to parts of the hand and its compression can lead to tingling, numbness and weakness in the hand. Typing is one of the most common causes of carpal tunnel syndrome, but it can also be caused by obesity, bone spurs, wrist injury, sports, playing musical instruments and other tasks that may cause carpal tunnel narrowing.
HOW IS CARPAL TUNNEL PAIN TREATED?
Treatment at Advanced Pain Management may involve medications ( such as NSAIDs), corticosteroid injections, median nerve blocks and the use of braces to help relieve compression of the nerve.
